My dad was partners with Martin Granholm, who owned the “lodge” in the ’50’s. We visited there more than once. It was truly magical to me, like a log cabin castle. With the two fireplaces roaring, and the weather autumn-perfect, it was a place I’ll never forget. I managed to find it in the 90’s and was sorry to see and smell the creosote. So happy to know it’s been restored. Absolutely gorgeous, including Junkob Lake and surrounding forests.

We had a wonderful time hanging out at the lodge and watching the leaves change colors. Can’t wait to come again.

Our first family snowmobile trip. Not sure who had more fun….the kids or the dog. What a beautiful trail behind the cabin…breath taking! We will definitely be back.

What a nice weekend! 40 degree temps and cabin was nice and cozy for the four of us. Skied the XC trails twice and did a little snowshoeing. Very nice trail system, you have an awesome property. We’ll definitely be back.

Absolutely beautiful time! The cabin is perfect, the weather was wonderful and even shot enough partridge for dinner and to take home!

This was our first visit and it was a dream come true. Our niece got married here and I have not been to a more beautiful wedding. The time here made us all realize what life is all about, family friends and the outdoors. We will definitely be back. Love it!

As always, a wonderful visit! The small routines and rituals our family has developed during our stays continue to create memories, binding ourselves and friends together. The beauty and serenity of the place heartens and heals. Nice cool weather, good fishing, and relaxing walks, thanks again.

We had a great stay. Perfect weather warm, sunny days and cool nights. Thanks Chuck for hauling canoes up the river for us, we enjoyed our trips down the river and by the end we even felt like we knew what we were doing – mostly. We hiked the McCormick Tract, saw a bald eagle at the Lake, a couple of deer and had several visits from the resident hummingbirds. All in all a great end & summer retreat with the family.

In Feb, 2009 we came to CedarHurst looking for a location for our wedding. We immediately fell in love with this place. When our guest started arriving here for our Sept wedding, like us, they were overwhelmed with the beauty provided by both the Lodge, the River Cabin and the natural surroundings. The place was perfect for our wedding and we cannot say enough about Chuck. We highly recommend this place for any kind of event. It is a wonderously beautiful place.

An amazing place that we have come to love. A great week spent with good friends and family. We went hiking out to Pogy’s Camp and also the Republic Wetlands Preserve (beautiful). Also did a bunch of Geocaching, kayaked on the Greenwood Reservior, climbed to the top of Sugarloaf Mtn and enjoyed day trips to Big Bay and Lanse. What a fun yet relaxing week.

Our annual firm retreat gathered at CedarHurst Lodge and had a great time together at this beautiful place in full fall color! We canoed, caught lots of fish (Roy’s walleye the best) refreshed in the sauna/lake and drank wine near the fire. Thank you for everything, it could not have been better!

Only a two day stay here, clearly not long enough. Beautiful weather – paddled the canoe in both directions on the river, rode bikes made a fire in the firepit, cooked good food. The River Cabin is a beautiful warm cozy cabin – curious to see it in the winter. Like everyone says…we’ll be back. Thanks for providing such a wonderful space and place for the rest of us to retreat to.

Thank you for letting us enjoy this little side of paradise. Our first vacation in the UP was spectacular and the setting and atmosphere of the Lodge is nothing short of spectacular. Our parting wish is that we have many more opportunities to enjoy this idylic setting.

We found CedarHurst while surfing the net for a place to vacation. Wow..what a find! We had such a great time! Canoeing, fishing, hiking, swimming, bocce, soccer, uno tournaments… you name it we did it! …..Even though our days were packed full from morning to night we still were able to relax & enjoy the beauty & peacefulness that surrounded us. We will definitely be back!

We so very much enjoyed our stay here! The River Cabin far exceeded our expectations and was well equipped with everything we needed. We had a fantastic time in this gorgeous setting – I’m sad to leave. Thank you for recommending the Republic Wetlands Preserve hike – we loved that! Very beautiful and lots of wildlife!! We look forward to our next visit!

Spectacular weather for skiing! Temps in the 20’s, sunny skies, and no wind in two words, perfect conditions. We skiied at Blueberry Ridge one day and the CedarHurst trails one day. We had a truly extraordinary weekend!

So the magic of the internet let us imagine a ski vacation at a cabin in the woods and then find the perfect place. But the internet isn’t what has made this place so perfect and beyond our expectations. The cabin is great, the trails well groomed and enjoyable. We had an ideal sampling of weather – snow, clouds and even one day of full sun! Thanks for the excellent service – Hope to see you again!
